| After
designing the flutter fly, I was anxious to prove it would catch fish.
With a break in the clouds and a close by lake, I loaded my canoe and
gave the idea a try. The rig demands patience. It works best in very slow
retrieves and a stop and go action which allows the blade to flutter and
wiggle. Let your imagination and experience be your guide. I was casting
good distances with 6 pound line and a 6' light spinning rod. |
If
you enjoy using your own flies, they can be rigged to a 'willow
wobbler' to produce the same action and great catches. |
